Our Modeling / Rating Process
Step 1 - Modeling and generating a projected HERS Rating
RAM’s modelers will analyze construction plans and design data using specialized software to generate a projected HERS rating.
Step 2 - Applying hypothetical adjustments for cost effectiveness
Based on the initial projected HERS Rating, RAM’s modelers will test hypothetical adjustments to help you determine the most cost effective way to achieve your desired rating.
Step 3 - On-site inspections and system verification
RAM’s Raters will provide on-site inspections and system verification near the beginning and end of the construction process.
- Beginning: Pre-drywall inspection / Duct Leakage Test (as required by IECC code compliance)
- End: Final inspection / Duct Leakage and Air Infiltration (blower door) Test (as required by IECC code compliance)
Step 4 - Generating a final HERS Rating
After the final inspection, RAM’s home energy specialist will generate a final HERS Rating, along with any necessary certificates for code compliance or energy programs.
